Between Seattle Goodwill’s Glitter Gala and Glitter Sale, our communities received a huge boost over the last month as more than $854,000 was raised for Goodwill’s free Job Training and Education (JTE) programs.

A record number of shoppers attended the 35th Annual Glitter Sale at Goodwill, and their purchases helped make this year’s sale a success. More than 3,255 people bought $309,240 worth of eveningwear, shoes, purses, jewelry and accessories Saturday-Sunday, November 10-11, at Goodwill’s Seattle flagship store off Dearborn Street. Two hundred people also shopped the pre-sale on Wednesday, November 7. All proceeds from the sale will support Goodwill’s free JTE programs.

Over 600 excited shoppers formed a line stretching along Goodwill’s building and out to Dearborn Street before the sale opened to the public at 9:00 am on Saturday. The shoppers wanted to be among the first to browse the racks of designer, vintage and one-of-a-kind pieces.

Three weeks prior, Seattle Goodwill supporters raised over $545,000 on October 20 to support critical support services at Goodwill’s annual Glitter Gala and Fashion show. More than 600 guests attended the event at Bell Harbor International Conference Center in Seattle.

“We really want to thank the community for supporting both the sale and gala and making them such a huge success,” said Goodwill President & CEO Daryl Campbell. “The proceeds we raised will allow Goodwill to help more people in our community get jobs. Last year Seattle Goodwill served over 13,000 individuals.”
