Register to vote at one of your favorite Goodwills!
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
On Tuesday, November 3, we have the opportunity to make our voices heard and exercise our right to vote! At Goodwill, we’re hosting voter registration drives to make sure that everyone who is eligible and interested in voting has the opportunity to cast their ballot.
In partnership with Common Power, we’ll have volunteers running registration drives at select stores across northwest Washington the first four Saturdays of October from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm.
Volunteers can help you register using paper forms or online with one of our computers or with your own mobile device.
Celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month
National Hispanic Heritage Month traditionally honors the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latino Americans celebrating the heritage rooted in all Latin American countries.
To help you celebrate and honor Hispanic Heritage Month, we’ve compiled some of our favorite resources for bringing Latinx voices to your life. You’ll find a diverse range of intersectional Hispanic and Latinx identities, experiences, cultures, and histories among these resources.
Digital learning innovations bring new opportunities to Goodwill students and employees
At Seattle Goodwill, we served 6,684 students last year at our five Job Training and Education centers throughout the north Puget Sound. For us, supporting students is more than in-classroom instruction – it means offering the same type of care and compassion one would expect from a family member. Read more about how Seattle Goodwill innovated remote learning and continued supporting the community needs during the uncertainty of Covid-19.
Pete's Return to Work
For the last eight years, Pete’s work has helped Seattle Goodwill provide free job training, education programs and support services to community members in need. His work in E-Commerce allows Goodwill to continue its critical mission of helping others improve their lives and the lives of their families.
While Pete has learned the importance of Goodwill’s programs, he’s never needed to take advantage of them himself. That changed when Pete, like so many others, became unemployed due to business closure brought on by COVID-19.
