Shoppers can now complete Amazon returns and Goodwill donations in one place at all 21 store locations in Northwest Washington.

Seattle, WA — December 8, 2025 — Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington has collaborated with Amazon to offer shipping box-free, label-free return kiosks. One of 155 independently operated Goodwills, Evergreen Goodwill is the first nonprofit and the first Goodwill to offer this service across all 21 of its stores in five counties across Northwest Washington. Combining dropping off donations to Goodwill and returning items to Amazon just got a lot more convenient.

“The two things almost everybody has in their car are an Amazon return and a bag of items to donate. People can now get both done in one place,” said Libby Johnson McKee, President and CEO of Evergreen Goodwill.

For Evergreen Goodwill, this collaboration is about more than creating convenience for shoppers and donors; it’s a full-circle moment for CEO Libby Johnson McKee, who spearheaded the Amazon return kiosk program in her previous role as Amazon’s Director Worldwide Returns, ReCommerce, and Transportation Sustainability.

The kiosks are expected to drive foot traffic and attract new donors and customers. While making an Amazon return, people can drop off items they no longer use and shop for great products at a thrift price point. As a bonus, those who complete an Amazon return receive a 20% off coupon valid for 24 hours when they sign up as a Goodwill Insider, encouraging them to explore the store and shop sustainably.

“Amazon and Goodwill share a mission of delivering excellent value and convenience to customers,” said Johnson McKee. “In addition, every return is an opportunity to donate and shop thrift which supports our tuition-free adult education. A win for shoppers and the community.”

As in other locations, the kiosks at Goodwill allow customers to scan an Amazon QR code, bag their item with the provided materials, and drop it into the kiosk, no shipping box required. Returns are simple and easy, and the process takes just minutes.

“We’re always seeking ways to make returns more convenient for our customers, and working with a nonprofit like Evergreen Goodwill does exactly that while supporting their important community mission,” said Gopal Pillai, Vice President of Worldwide Returns and Recommerce at Amazon. “This is our first collaboration with a nonprofit, and we’re excited to make it easier for customers in Northwest Washington to drop off label-free, shipping boxfree returns at the same place they’re donating and shopping.”
