JumpStart
The JumpStart program emphasizes electrical, HVAC, solar, and project management career pathways. We support people from underrepresented communities to pursue living wage career pathways that contribute to a cleaner and healthier King County.
Eligibility
Open to adults aged 18 and over
Benefits
- Get paid as you learn. You’ll earn $25 an hour during a 240-hour internship or work-based learning role, which can be completed in 6 weeks full-time or 12 weeks part-time.
- Build your skills by enrolling in a training program, earning industry-recognized certifications, and getting resume-building experience.
- Receive career support by connecting with employers at hiring events and getting help with job applications and employment services.
- Make a real difference by helping build a sustainable future and tackling climate change in your community.
Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the program.
- High school diploma or GED. This program is for people who do not have a four-year college degree. Some college, an associate degree, technical training, certifications, or military experience are all acceptable.
- You must have a physical Social Security card and a photo ID (Washington State ID, driver’s license, passport, or school ID).
- You must be free to complete a 6 to 12-week JumpStart paid work-based learning role, which totals 240 hours.
- Must have referral from one of our partnered programs.
- Must have your own running vehicle.
