Viper Fengz’s Top 5 Thrift Tips:

1️⃣   Quality Over Quantity

There are so many clothes out there, and so many more on the way! Never feel pressured to buy just because it’s there. Focus on finding pieces that make you feel like that diva, that really elevate your wardrobe—think about the fit, the fabric, and how it makes you feel.

2️⃣   Style, Don’t Shop

Before you head out, set an intention: What are you looking for? Maybe it’s a bold fur coat to throw over your favorite jeans, a belt that makes every outfit pop, or earrings that always get compliments. You probably have the basics—now it’s about finding those statement pieces that make you stand out.

3️⃣    Call in Intentions with the Thrift Gods

This is my favorite tip to do with my bestie, Surya. Before we walk into a store, we call in what we’re looking for—free drinks at the bar, new friends at the beach, or a fabulous fedora in the back of Goodwill no one’s touched yet! Be open to the magic. Think about what’s missing from your closet, and let it find you.

4️⃣    Textures on Textures on Textures

To avoid overconsumption, look for pieces that really stand out. We all have baggy jeans, but what about ones with cool stitching? If you need a black crop top, grab the one with unique cutouts or distressing. When you pick up something cute, ask yourself: What’s the extra feature that makes this fabulous?

5️⃣    Learn to Sew, Mama!

When you thrift, you’re hunting for potential. Sometimes a piece is almost perfect—but not quite. Learning a few simple sewing skills (like taking in seams or basic tailoring) can totally transform a find into a forever piece. It’s a game-changer.
