We were thrilled to have the opportunity to show off some unique, thrifted Halloween costume looks on FOX 13’s Good Day Seattle.

Spooky season may be upon us, but there’s nothing scary about supporting our mission to break down barriers to education and employment! We were thrilled to be able to showcase on New Day NW a handful of the endless possibilities shopping at Goodwill this Halloween can have.

Our Whatcom County Job Training & Education Center in Bellingham proudly hosted a job and resource fair with a keen focus on connecting immigrant and refugee populations to jobs and resources available in the community.

“Evergreen Goodwill’s mission is to break down significant barriers to education and employment people in the community face. The organization fulfills this mission in a variety of ways, including offering basic instruction on how to use computers and smartphones, cloud computing and applications like Microsoft Word and Excel and Google Docs and Sheets.”

“On Monday, July 19, leaders from Evergreen Goodwill and Comcast, as well as community members and students gathered to celebrate the opening of an enhanced Lift Zone and Community Space, where anyone can access reliable internet and computers. The space is located at Evergreen Goodwill’s King County Job Training and Education Center, at 700 Dearborn Place South in Seattle.”

Representatives from Evergreen Goodwill, students, instructors, and leaders from Seattle and King County joined Comcast to celebrate the opening of an enhanced Lift Zone & Community Space at Evergreen Goodwill’s King County Job Training and Education Center in Seattle.

FOX 13 Seattle visited Evergreen Goodwill’s brand new Lift Zone lab, created in partnership with Comcast, located at our King County Job Training & Education Center.

“With Evergreen Goodwill approaching its 100th anniversary in 2023, Campbell says, “Make no mistake, we are a nonprofit. After we consider the cost of running our extensive retail operation, we are still able to put over $11 million of that directly toward our mission to provide free job training and education, but also to continue to invest in increasing wages for our own 2,100 employees.'”

This new “Lift Zone lab” will help families across King County receive online
resources, skills and access to vital technology needed for education and employment.
