Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington today announced plans to close its South Lake Union and University District nonprofit thrift store locations. The announcement was made as escalating theft, safety concerns, and rising rents have made it increasingly difficult to maintain a secure and sustainable environment for both employees and shoppers. The last day these stores will be open and accepting donations is September 22.

As Evergreen Goodwill celebrates Black History Month, we are drawing inspiration from the theme “Art as a Platform for Social Justice,” identified by the National Museum of African American History & Culture for 2024. There is a rich tapestry of African American history and culture, particularly within our region.
Evergreen Goodwill is excited to announce the grand opening of its latest retail store, located in Sedro-Woolley, WA. Opening its doors at 9:00 am on February 2, 2024, Sedro-Woolley marks the organization’s 25th retail space and first new location in nearly a decade.
Over the last 100 years, Evergreen Goodwill has transformed from an up-and-coming thrifting operation to a pillar of the Northwest Washington community. This resilience is a testament to our incredible workforce, donors, and shoppers supporting our mission to transform lives through the power of education and quality employment.
