Evergreen Goodwill Opens New Georgetown Operations Center

New 119,000-square-foot facility brings e-commerce, storage, recycling and transportation together under one roof to help donations go further

SEATTLE, Wash. — September 12, 2026 — Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington today announced the opening of its new Georgetown Operations Center, a 119,000-square-foot facility designed to transform how donated goods are sorted, moved, reused, recycled, and sold each year.

By centralizing key operations, the organization will process more than 120 million pounds of donations annually with greater efficiency, divert more materials from landfills, and generate additional funding for its tuition-free job training and education programs across Northwest Washington.

The new facility and four-acre transportation yard bring Evergreen Goodwill’s e-commerce, storage, transportation, recycling and salvage operations together in one location.

As the region’s largest textile reuse and recycling organization, Evergreen Goodwill keeps 99% of donated clothing out of local landfills. The technology, logistics, and specialized teams housed at the Georgetown Operations Center help make that impact possible.

Ultimately, revenue generated through Evergreen Goodwill’s retail and operational network funds tuition-free education and job training programs across Northwest Washington. Improvements in logistics, waste reduction, and operational efficiency allow the organization to invest more resources directly into programs that help people build skills, earn credentials, and pursue employment opportunities.

Key Operations at the Georgetown Facility

E-commerce: Teams manage more than 200,000 active online listings and sell and ship over 1 million donated items annually through online marketplaces including eBay, ShopGoodwill.com, Amazon, and Depop, reaching buyers across the country.

Storage: With space to store 7,000 surplus boxes of inventory, the organization can manage seasonal fluctuations in donation volume and respond to product needs across the region.

Bulk Sales and Recycling: Items that cannot be sold through retail or online channels are prepared for bulk resale, reuse, or recycling, with landfill used only as a last resort.

Transportation: A centralized dispatch operation, 130 vehicles, and a four-acre transportation yard support the coordination and movement of goods across a five-county region.

Technology and Automation: Investments in professional authentication tools, disc repair equipment, custom box-sizing systems, and route optimization software are improving efficiency, supporting employees, and reducing costs across warehouse operations.
